Memo to all members and associates

It is with great sadness that we mourn the lost of one of our senior and leading association committee member, current President of the Khmer Kampuchea-Krom Association of SA Inc. Mr Kinh Thach. He has been battling an illness and on Saturday 20th August 2011 he passed peacefully at 11:05 am with family by his side. Our thoughts and prayers go to his family in these sorrow times.

Mr Kinh has served his term since 2002 up until 2010 when he was diagnosed with his illness. During his term the Association has achieved many important accomplishments including helping to facilitate and bringing into existence a place of worship for the entire Khmer Krom community which is known as the Khmer Krom Buddhist Monastery of SA Inc. Other achievements include representing the Khmer Krom community in the Australia Day parade and organising events and festivals for Khmer Krom to celebrate in accordance to our tradition and culture. In addition, the Association through his leadership has also made many contributions and donations as part of our charity and foreign aide initiatives. His leadership also enabled the Association to successfully organised the Youth Leadership workshop giving our young generation the opportunities to learn about not only how to become a leader, but a successful one from guess speakers who themselves attribute such traits.

We truly have lost a kind, gentle and peace loving man who has served the Khmer Kampuchea-Krom community with tremendous commitment and passion.

Quang Tran Danh
ACTING PRESIDENT
KHMER KAMPUCHEA-KROM OF SA INC.
